Dinner from the CSA

We have a great list this week and I was able to throw together a quick and easy dinner using our new produce.

1 Bag Dragon Tongue Beans – Certified Organic – Bellview Organics
1 Pint Cherry Tomatoes – Certified Organic – White Swan Acres
1 Bunch Fresh Purple Onions – Certified Organic – Taste of Nature
1 Bunch Orange Carrots – Certified Organic – Windy Hollow Organics
2 Green Zucchini – Certified Organic – Maple Lawn Organics
1 Bunch Bulls Blood Beets – Certified Organic – Echo Valley Organics
3 Lemon Cucumbers – Certified Organic – Elm Tree Organics
1 Bag New Red Potatoes (Unwashed) – Certified Organic – Green Valley Organics

Used this recipe for this. Despite being ridicuously simple it was quite delicious.

But can someone tell me what the hell to do with Dragon Tongue Beans?!

  1. Yum, dragon’s tongue beans! I haven’t seen any at our farmers’ market yet this year. I always use this recipe from my blog (posted a few years ago, but still a favourite): http://www.itaintmeatbabe.com/2009/08/dragons-tongue-beans-with-garlic.html Simple but good!

  2. I got Dragon Tongue Beans too, and I’m not sure what to do with them. I may toss them with some shallots and garlic and then let them simmer in some chicken broth for a while….kind of what I do with regular green beans.

  3. I’ve never heard of dragon tongue beans, but that has to be the best name for a food ever.

  4. Can I come over for dinner, please? šŸ™‚

  5. This looks absolutely delicious. Dragon tongue beans? I’ve never heard of them, but they sure sound interesting!

  6. dragon tongue?! I’ll echo people above and say I have no idea!
The quinoa looks pretty! I love WF recipes and often use them for inspiration!
