First CSA Bounty of 2011

Since Lauren has been out of town the cats and I have been holding down the fort. With all the nice weather as of late we have partaken in a couple of choice BBQs. I sometimes forget how much I miss the nice weather and being able to hang out with friends outdoors. There are not too many things better than friends, food, and the outdoors in my opinion.

We have also done a good deal of day drinking, the best kind of drinking. I’m too old to hang out all night, then I found out smart “grownups” drink during the day.

Yesterday was the first day of the 2011 CSA. Last year was our first year of participating in our local CSA, Lancaster Farm Fresh and we loved it! Were hoping this year will be just as amazing and have us trying new veggies that we would probably skip right over at the grocery. Only a few quick photos as I rode straight from work to the pick up the bounty at Almanac Market, grabbed the produce, rode home and snapped a few photos before swapping bikes and getting out to a local ride.

This weeks produced included:

1 Bag Spinach – Certified Organic – Autumn Blend Organics

1 Bunch Rhubarb – Certified Organic – Elm Tree Organics

1 Bunch Spring Garlic – Certified Organic – Life Enhancing Acres

1 Bunch White Scallions – Certified Organic – Friends Road Organics

1 Head Green Leaf Lettuce – Certified Organic – Green Valley Organics

1 Bunch Asparagus – Certified Organic – Meadow Valley Organics, Plum Hill Organics, Sweetaire Farm, or Rolling Ridge Farm

1 Bunch French Breakfast Radishes – Certified Organic – Plum Hill Organics
