This is kind of embarrassing to admit, but I have lived here for almost a year and a half and never visited the art museum. I ride/run past it every week and have run up the steps numerous times, but never been inside.
Megan, Juli and I made plans to spend Monday afternoon at the museum. We met up at Juli’s beforehand and I snapped some photos of her cat Amelia.
Yea, she is slightly large.
The museum is one of the prettiest buildings in Philadelphia.
A slightly out of focus Juli and Megan, but still cute!
They have a huge collection of art, but I really enjoyed all the historic objects.
Eric’s favorite part is the Asian collection, so I took a lot of photos for him!
But I think my favorite was the Pennsylvanian Dutch furniture.
I’m glad I finally made it, and hopefully will go back soon.
I love that last shot of the city and the Parkway. I dont care what anyone says about all the monuments and such in DC, Philly has such an iconic skyline.
oh my goodness. amelia was such a diva this morning. she heard about how she was internet famous now and demanded low-fat (i know hard to believe right?) warmed chai tea latte. however she still finished her bowl of chow. love the photos lauren! thanks again for shooting my tanker truck oops i meant cat.
i need to shoot chuck next time! he’s a handsome fella and deserves some internet fame!
Ooh, I love the furniture too. I’m a huge fan of historic exhibitions…art’s just okay. But I love little bits of history. 🙂 And I love that fat, fat cat!
the art museum is seriously awesome. one of my fave spots in the city!
fat cat is fat.
awesome swords, I would get in so much trouble there
