Good Dog

Another one of the many bars we frequent that also have good food. If were in the area and looking for a bite, we usually end up here since there is something for everyone. They have a a legit draft list and on Sundays all their specialty cocktails are only $5. One thing to watch out for if your vegan is that all their dressings contain egg yolks or honey, so ask for balsamic and olive oil. In good news last time I talked to them (May 2010) they explained, “The Chef is working on making a tasty vegan dressing and/or making one of our current recipes without the egg yolks, so you should see a vegan option soon.” This is a good thing for sure and defiantly looking forward to this.

Oh and as for hot sauce they have tabasco, not the worst but some redhot at this place… oh boy! Especially since their fries are excellent. They are a mix of regular & sweet potatoes and the full size is huge, really huge. Actually Lauren believes that she alone can eat three bowls of these things… so if anyone ever wants to challenge her we can make this happen. Anyways on to the good stuff.

Eric Pick:

Veggie cake (which is a veggie burger) sans the mayo, which is made with roasted eggplant, lentils, mushroom, cumin, cilantro & scallion cake. This is topped with beet chips and served on a Yards ESA multigrain roll.

Lauren’s Pick:

The good dog salad sans the goat cheese and swap the spiced vanilla vinaigrette for the balsamic and olive oil with romaine, arugula, sun-dried cranberries & sliced almonds served. Depending on the amount of people we usually get some of their fries as well.

  1. The vegetarian (vegan) sloppy joe is awesome, too. I would really recommend it.
