I had heard about this place when I first moved here. An old school ice cream parlor. It was supposed to be really cute inside, but I never had a reason to go because I don’t eat ice cream. Well then magically this week I learned that they serve three soy flavors, mint chip, chocolate, and vanilla. OBVIOUSLY I then had to try it out. The Ice cream is Klein’s Real Kosher Ice Cream.
We were greeted with a line out the door.
But the line was moving fairly fast. Eric and I were still skeptical at this point, then we got a glimpse of the menu…yep soy flavors!
The inside was really cool, and I think my parents enjoyed the feel of the place. Brought them back to their childhood.
My parents both got dairy ice cream.
I went with mint chip.
And Eric got chocolate and vanilla.
I would say success on all fronts. Although Franklin Fountain is only a few blocks from our apartment, so it could get dangerous this summer.
By far the mint chocolate chip is our favorite, but the vanilla and chocolate aren’t too shabby either.
